A registered charity in England and Wales:1016630, Scotland: SC046263, and Ireland: 20104887. It is a limited company registered in England and Wales (company no.2757055).

Authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Personal details

If you do elect to follow the advice offered in StepChange Debt Remedy, your personal details will be required to enable us to contact you. Your consent will be required before you proceed. We will keep all your personal information confidential and secure and we will only use this data to provide you with the services requested.

While visiting our Site, and in particular when accepting the debt advice provided by Debt Remedy, you may voluntarily choose to provide your email address. This information will only be used for the purpose of providing you with the specific information requested by you, or to send you important updates concerning our debt advice or the debt solution you may have chosen. Should you not select a debt solution following a Debt Remedy session, your email address will be deleted after 6 months. It will not be passed to any other organisation.

You may also choose to provide your email address (on our website, during telephone calls with us, or via other recognised means of providing us consent to communicate with you) as a means of signing up to receive StepChange Debt Charity emails and newsletters.

Health & Wellbeing

The Site provides you with a StepChange Debt Remedy recommendation tailored to your personal circumstances. StepChange Debt Remedy and our Wellbeing tool are not designed to treat depression, anxiety or other mental health disorders. Anyone seeking a diagnosis or treatment of anxiety, depression or other mental health disorders should seek the help of suitably qualified medical professionals.


The Site has been prepared in order to provide information. Whilst we make every effort to ensure the content is accurate, it is not a comprehensive statement of the law, or of the issues raised and should not be relied upon for that purpose.


In no event will FCC, its trustees, agents or employees be liable for any decisions made or action taken through relying on the information in this Site.
